TN CM launches phase 8 of the excavation of keeladi

Madurai: Minister of Tamil Minister Nadu M Stalin inaugurated eight phases of excavation in Keeladi in Sivaganga Regency, the third phase in Sivagalai in Tuticorin Regency and the first phase in Vembakottai in the Virudhunagar district in Tirunelveli.
Excavations are being taken in four of these places and three others at the cost of Rs 5 Crore this year.
The Department of Archaeological State Tamil Nadu is conducting excavation.
The eighth phase of excavation in Keeladi and the villages of Kontthagai Kluster, Manalur and Gaugiak will work to identify the continuation of the brick structure found in previous excavations at the location.
It will focus on finding evidence of trade connections owned by KeeDi with various parts of India and other countries and also more evidence from this urban civilization that has developed on the banks of the Vaigai River.
Keeladi denied the theory that Tamil Nadu did not have basic civilizations such as Ganga Civilization.
In addition, it has been proven that people who live there literate in the early 6th century BC.
In this third phase in Sivagalai, archaeologists will try to find more evidence for the existence of 3,200-year-old civilization on the banks of the Porunai River, (Thamirabarani).
Scientific analysis of rice granules that experienced Dehusked found in Sivagalai has improved the age of 3,200 years.
In Thulukkarpatti, there are archaeological mounds 2.5 km from Thulukkarpatti – Kannanallur Road.
This excavation phase aims to identify the ancient roots of civilization that can return to iron era.
A archeological mound spread in the area of ​​25 km in Vembakottai in Virudhunagar district taken for excavation for the first time.
It is believed that civilization will continue to develop in these areas since the palaeolitics period to the Mesolithic period.
Looking to find tools that might have been used by people who live here are the purpose of this excavation.
Excavations will also focus on finding a trace of ancient Korgai port where trade develops with other countries.
