Chennai: With 2,913 fresh Covid-19 cases on Saturday, Tamil Nadu continues to record a decrease in everyday cases even though there are some relaxation in locking, including opening of offices, public transportation, malls and restaurants.
New cases in Tamil Nadu fell below 3,000 after 100 days (since April 1).
At least 3,321 people were sent back from the registry when the country reported 49 deaths on Saturday, encouraging the calculation of cases to 25.16 lakh and the death toll became 33,371.
“It’s time for us to be careful.
The level of participant continues to drop but also compliance with the Pandemic protocol,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“We have directed all districts to draw samples from people with symptoms and take random samples at work and crowded areas,” he said.
The country, which reported an average of more than 14,000 cases to mid-June, now reported less than 3,000 cases every day, but with increased risky behavior, the rate in which the falling case had slowed.
“People violate masks and social distance norms in closed spaces such as restaurants and shopping complexes, sit close to each other even in public transportation.
This can increase the risk of clusters,” he said.
“The only way to strengthen the right public behavior, besides deviating them, will be a constant reminder,” he said.
On Saturday, Western District Coimbatore, Erode and Salem recorded 338, 215 and 180 cases.
On Friday, Coimbatore reported 349 new cases, Erode 230 and Salem 191.
This district also had the most active case – Coimbatore 4,108, scraping 2,997 and salem 2,155.
While Chennai and Thanjavur respectively reported 174 new cases, Trichy reported 116 cases and Madurai reported 39.
New cases in 30 districts were in two digits, at least 19 districts had new cases below 50.
Ramanathapuram reported fabricating (16 ) and Tenkasi (17).
Dindigul, who recorded 18 cases on Friday, recorded 23 new cases on Saturday.
Of the 49 deaths, Cuddalore reported seven, Six Tirupur, Salem and Chennai reported four.
Sixteen districts reported zero death and 10 of them reported each.
