Chennai: Two lakh staff, thousands of volunteers, 50,000 vaccination camps, more than 8,000 vehicles other than public campaigns and door-to-door canvassing by nurses can bring less than 20 lakh people to the seventh mega vaccination camp on Saturday.
At 8:15 a.m., the immunization division attached to the Preventive Medical Directorate announced 17.1 Lakh people visited vaccination camps.
Among the 10.8 lakh people have taken the first dose.
The slowdown in vaccination throughout the country has often been associated with a combination of wrong information and distrust, labeled by public health workers in the state as a vaccine of doubt.

They keep reminding me to wear it right because I was not vaccinated.
I came here today because I was fed up with it , “said a 19-year-old student, Sakshi A.

11 Districts reported an increase in Covid cases: Eleven districts reported an increase in cases on Saturday when new cases in the country fell to 1,021 from 1,039 on Friday.

Of the 14 deaths reported on Saturday, there were three in Coimbatore and two in Erode, Trichy and Nagapattinam.
Chengalpattu, Salem, Kancheepuram, Thiruvarur and Ranipet reported one of their respective deaths.
Twenty-nine districts reported zero death.
