TN CS Reviewing the Readiness of Northeast Monsun

Chennai: Head of Secretary of Tamil Nadu V Anbu on Saturday issued a lot of directions to the head of the Government Department in the readiness of the Northeast Monsun, including the preparation of standard operating procedures to demand waterbodies and channels, strengthen the round of storm water.

“Officials must be given skills development training, conscious campaigns must be held for public groups and whatsapp must be formed with housing welfare associations,” said Secretary’s Chief.
Young children in rural areas must be identified and given training for rescue missions.

Officials were also told to involve volunteers in rescue operations and supplying assistance to people.
“Every city must develop standard operating procedures for flood management,” said the top bureaucrat.
The Department of Public Works must involve experts and monitor the storage in the reservoir and release water during an emergency.
The fallen tree must be removed immediately, and the public must complain through social media.
The elderly and disability must be prioritized during the evacuation of the lowland area.
Covid protocol must be followed.
“Every district must have a map of affected areas,” said Secretary said.
Representatives of the three armed forces, coast guards, meteorological departments, the Central Air Commission, NDRF, among others took part in the meeting.
