Chennai: A 32-year-old Customs official was stabbed by her husband Techie who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol in their homes in Koyambedu at Zero on Saturday, police said.
The victim, S Sharmila, was the deputy commissioner at the Customs Department and was posted at Chennai Airport, while her husband S Selvamuthu Kumaran, 32, was a technology consultant at MNC on Siruseri, police said.
A fight erupted between the pair on Friday night since selvamuthu kandaran objected to Sharmila’s plan to attend a wedding of relatives in Madurai.
During the fight, Sharmila allegedly threatened to endanger itself with a knife, when Selvamithu, which was reported under the influence of alcohol, grabbed the knife from him and stabbed him on the chest and right wrist.
Sharmila rushed to a private hospital in Vadadaani and had undergone treatment.
In the information, the CMBT police have registered cases and further investigation.
The pair is said to get married for 10 years and has two children.
Sharmila’s father was a retired assistant police commissioner.
