CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has improved from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh that the solatium for its kin of authorities recognised journalists that perish of Covid-19. They’re also bridging the gap between the individuals and the authorities. In an effort to promote them and value them for releasing their responsibility effectively throughout the ordeal, the government has chosen to improve the incentive and reimbursement to the journalists that are recognised, such as photojournalists and cameramen, attached to government-approved printing and digital media. Welcoming the CM’s statement, office-bearers of all Chennai Press Club have asked the authorities to increase compensation from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. They’ve urged the authorities to pay most of the journalists rather than stretching the welfare aid just to the authorities recognised journalists because most are economically weak. The discussion has asked the authorities to reevaluate the retirement scheme into the kin of journalists who lost their lives into Covid-19.
