PUDUCHERRY: The duo of the father-child was killed, and the other three were injured when the two state fireworks that they carried on their motorbikes exploded accidentally in Kottakuppam in the Villupuram district, near the Puduchery-Tamil Nadu border on Thursday.
Police said K Kalainan, 37, from Ariyankuppam, known for being high decibel and cheap country fireworks in Puducherry continued to his in-laws’ house in Koonimedu in the Villupuram district with his son K Pradeesh, 7, brought two state fireworks, which he did was bought from area.
When he crossed Kottakuppam in the Villupuram district, fireworks in one of the bags accidentally exploded killing the duo of the sons on the spot.
The explosion was very intense that their bodies were torn apart into several parts and spread several meters from the accident site.
Three riders suffered severe burns and in a hurry to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate and Research Medical Education (JIPMER).
Villupuram Digging M Pinggian and Villupuram Police Supervisory N Shreenatha visited the explosion site and made the initial question.
A team of forensic science experts combed the explosion site and took a sample of the remains of fireworks.
The police suspect that fireworks may have exploded because of excessive friction and heat from motorbikes.
