TN: Gang decapites men to fight offers to seize the phone

Coimbatore: A 25-year-old man beheaded by a gang to reject their efforts to seize cellphones from him in Serangadu near Nalur in Tirupur on Sunday night.
The police identified the victim as M said the reason Konarajapuram was near Mayiladuthurai.
Sathish worked in the embroidery unit in Serangadu and lived in a room with his colleague Danjith, 20, from Sukkampatti in the Trichy district.
Sathish and Ranjith consumed liquor on a blank plot behind a private school around 11pm on Sunday when the gang came on three motorbikes, a police officer said.
Gang threatened the duo in the knifepoint and tried to grab the cellphone from them.
When Sathish warned again, gang decapitated he used the sickle and took the head cut off, Ranjith told the police during the investigation.
“Ranjith, who was also attacked by a gang, managed to reach the main road and asked for help from passing people,” the officer said.
Ranjith was taken to the Tirupur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
He faced a criminal case in Musapapi in the Trichy district.
The police took Satish’s body and sent it for postmortem.
Police Commissioner Tirupur A G Babu on Monday formed four special teams to track the deceased’s head and investigate this case.
