Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday moved the Supreme Court to challenge the command of the main bench of the Green National Court which canceled the proceedings of Suo Motu from the South Regional bench which formed the Committee to study the Mekedatu Dam site without permission needed and if there was damage caused by the environment.
Based on the TOI report in May, the southern bench NGT has established a representative committee from the Ministry of Environment Union, Cauvery Water Management Authority, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam and the Ministry of Forestry to ensure the authenticity of the initial accusation.
The Karnataka government submitted a review before the NGT school head bench in Delhi in June.
“The court that disputes the review application submitted by Karnataka based on the statement made in the application, without providing an opportunity for the Petitioner (Government of TN) to submit a reply,” Petition said.
This case was discarded on the first day of hearing on June 17.
TN learned about the application registered in front of NGT and asked for letters to be served by the advice that appeared for Karnataka, which was served at 9:45 a.m.
When this problem was taken by the principal bench, advice for TN looking for time to study papers and submit replies.
However, there was no time given, and benches continued, the petition was submitted at the Supreme Court.
The Government of TN believes that the main bench order violates the rules of 2011 (which deal with the application to be reviewed) and the bench, instead of fixing problems to the South Regional bench, proceed to take the application of the carnataka review without recording any reason to take the same thing before the school head in Delhi.
TN believes that the main bench continues with the wrong assumption that in the light of the weakness of other applications from the Government of TN in the Supreme Court.
It failed to consider the application that was delayed by reinforcing the preparation of reports on the drink-drinking water-drinking project balancing, while the problem in the original petition was about the work of laying roads without forest and environmental permissions.
