Chennai: With temples in all states now open throughout the day, religious endows and Hindu charities (HR and CE) and the Ministry of Tourism will collaborate to launch a spiritual tour package.
Tamil Nadu Nadu Development Corporation (TTDC) will operate tours and the HR department and CE will facilitate Darshan on priority, not like now.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Religious Wages Dr.
B Chandra Mohan, who also held a tourism portfolio, said TTDC would design packages and the HR department and CE would facilitate Darshan’s priority for tourists, he added.
Former TTDC Manager N Ravi said such initiatives for collaboration between the Department of HR and CE and tourism were taken in 1985.
“However, it was not realized and tourists traveling with TTDC packages did not get priority for Darshan.
Rates for the tour package should not be improved To accommodate Darshan special costs, “he said.
