Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has established Helpdesk for fertilizer supplies in the agricultural directorate in Chennai for farmers to choose complaints and get details about supply.
Special cellphone numbers (9363440360) have been announced to get information from the department through voice calls and WhatsApp.
In the official release, the Commissioner of Agricultural Production and Secretary C Samayamoorthy said plants were cultivated in the area of 46.2 lakh hectares, including rice cultivation at 18.5 lakh hectares and the rest were millet, pulses, seeds, cotton and sugar cane.
Fertilizers are being sold through 8,100 private outlets and 4,354 cooperative outlets in the state.
The Government Government has allocated adequate supply of subsidized fertilizer, urea, ammonium phosphate and potash through 15 companies.
“Following the directions from the minister’s chairman, the aid desk has been arranged for farmers to get information about fertilizer supply,” said his broadcast.
The fertilizer monitoring center has been established in the office of Director of Agriculture Joint in each district to receive complaints and demands from farmers.
