TRICHY: A 60-year-old guy was stabbed to death with a four-member gang once he attempted to foil a ATM burglary at Koodur at Tiruvarur district in the wee hours of Saturday.
The Tiruvarur authorities detained all of the four over hours of the episode.
According to authorities, the sufferer, Tamilarasan of Koodur Bazaar, was that the owner of the Industrial complex which placed the State Bank of India ATM.
About 1.30am, the gang slipped to the ATM and attempted to split up the machine to spend the money.
On hearing the sound, Tamilarasan hurried to the place.
He saw exactly what the gang had been around and attempted to stop them.
But he had been stabbed on the torso using a screw driver that left him dead on the spot.
Locals caught offender, handed him copsThe gang members, named as Vijay, R Madhan along with A Akash, all aged 19, and K Prathap, 18, fled the scene shortly after.
Authorities said Akash was captured by the regional public handed over to the authorities while the 3 others escaped.
Acting on advice, superintendent of authorities fighter R Srinivasan formed special groups to nab them intensified auto checks.
According to authorities, both were nabbed if they attempted to escape to a two-wheeler and hurried from the sluice in Vadakattalai.
As they acquired their legs hurt in the procedure, authorities admitted that the three to federal medical school hospital while Akash had been detained.
They’ll be made before a magistrate in the hospital and also remanded in judicial custody.
