Chennai: Madras High Court has ordered the hard action in meat shops and cutting houses that function without licenses.
Justice S M Subamamaniam has directed the rural development director to ensure effective implementation of Tamil Nadu Village Panchayats (ban or regulation of the use of places for cutting animals).
“Article 21 The Constitution guarantees the right of life.
Health is an integral part of the right to life and, therefore, every public health problem arising because of these irregularities or illegalities, it must be overcome without causing an undue delay,” said the Judge.
Authorities are tasked with ensuring the implementation of the rules through subordinate officials.
Protecting public interest is very important.
People face health problems because of improper cleaning of garbage, medical waste and animal waste, said the court.
When these aspects are not monitored, and the rules are not implemented, it means that the authority failed in its duties, the court said.
The court issued orders on the request transferred by V Paneerselvam in 2015 looking for actions against illegal cutting homes in the Nagapattinam district.
