TN: Lottle of data needs to focus on restrictions on comorbidity

Chennai: Vaccination on war foothills can provide great benefits in reducing Covid-19 death, but the state now has clear evidence to show that long-term health policies must focus on prevention, management, and control of non-communicable diseases (NCD) encourage infectes to in ikus and complications.
The audit of people who died because Covid 19 showed that almost seven out of 10 people had not taken a vaccine.
Among people who were vaccinated from all age groups, comorbidity, especially diabetes and uncontrolled hypertension, pose a big threat, said the Director of Public Health Dr.
TS Selva Vinayagam, whose departments audited medical reports from 1,411 people who died in Covid-19 between October 1 and January 16.
Case sheets 44 (3%) are set aside when their vaccine status is unknown.
Of the 1,367 died, 976 (70%) were not vaccinated, including 811 above 50 years with comorbidity such as diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease or cancer.
Although the country has vaccinated almost 90% of its population over the age of 18 with one dose and 67% with two, a large number of vulnerable populations remain without vaccine protection.
Of the 10.4 crore people over 60 years, almost 37 lakh had not taken one vaccine dose.
“It is important to take both vaccine doses.
The elderly with comorbidity must take the dose of prudence too,” said Selva Vinayagam.
Among 172 people who died after taking one dose, 135 above 50 years with a comorbid condition.
This is not the first time the country has witnessed evidence of vaccine benefits.
Of the 88,719 people tested positive on Tamil Nadu between August and September 2021, at least 63% did not take any vaccines, 24% were partially vaccinated and 13% was fully vaccinated.
The ICU acceptance and death, almost 87% of death and 76% of ICU revenues are among those who are not vaccinated against Covid-19.
This analysis shows that the number of deceased which has taken both vaccine doses fell to 234.
“Even among these groups, nearly 217 people over 50 years have a comorbid condition,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
In a double vaccinated person under 50 years, nine with comorbid conditions died compared to three without comorbid conditions.
“While vaccines provide direct benefits, there is a need to maintain NCD under the control in the long term,” he said.
The situation hopes to cover a large number of people with NCD under the scheme of thedi maruthuvam.
