Madurai: A 25-year-old man has been arrested by Madurai District Police for killing a 75-year-old woman in Sholavandhan during an attempt to increase her.
The woman, who was alone, often slept on the roadside.
Manimaran Village Karuppatti took the woman to a remote area early on Monday.
The woman’s nephew found she was taken away by Manimaran.
When he faced the defendant, he threatened him and fled taking his aunt.
Nephew warned the police who were circling.
They found his body.
Then, the police arrested the manmaran, which was found also had previous cases against him.
The police were waiting for the postmortem report to confirm whether he did sexual abuse.
Sholavandhan police registered a murder case.
