Coimbatore: A man who was summoned to the Mangalam police station in the Tirupur district for a poison investigation consumed and died in the hospital later.
The deceased has been identified as Shanmugam, 41, from Paramasivampalayam near Mangalam.
A police officer in Tirupur said Shanmugam had a dispute regarding property with his relatives, Santhamani.
There was a fight between him and the woman.
In anger, he drove his car and hit him.
The woman escaped without a big injury.
He filed a complaint with Mangalam police.
Based on complaints, a case is registered against Shanmugam on Monday.
The police have called Shanmugam for an investigation.
Shanmugam went to the station on Tuesday with his mother.
When he arrived at the station, he vomited even before entering the building.
His mother shouted for help.
The police claimed to go to the Tirupur government hospital, where he did not cooperate with doctors for care.
He died in the hospital on the same day.
Mangalam police registered a case below part 174 CRPC (unnatural death).
