Chennai: Traffic was disturbed at Adyar for more than three hours on Thursday morning after tanker brought oil to puducerned upside down.
The oil that spilled onto the road made a slippery surface before fire service personnel and rescue stepped in.
The police said the accident occurred around 2am and that the truck brought oil used for manufacturing soap from the company in Puduchery.
“When the vehicle reached Durgabai Deshmukh Road, the driver loses control over the vehicle.
It crashed into the median and reversed,” said a police officer.
Ramlal driver, from Haryana, a sustainable injury in the head and legs, and is undergoing treatment at RGGGH.
The police said his condition was stable.
The police said the driver told them that the road was slippery because of the rain, but the police suspected the driver might fall asleep while on the wheel.
The Traffic Investigation Police Adjust took off the area to avoid further accidents because the road was slippery.
Sand is sprinkled on the road and firefighting service personnel and rescue cleanses the surface with foam to prevent vehicles from slipping.
The truck was stabilized using a large crane and the vehicle had not been cleaned from the place on Thursday night.
The vehicle continuing to the Marina was transferred and the driver had fun across the stretch due to congestion.
