CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Tuesday made a commission led by former chief justice of the Delhi high court Justice D Murugesan to examine the bad enrolment of government college students in professional courses such as engineering and agriculture.
The state authorities introduced 7.5% particular reservation for government college students in clinical admissions this past year.
“Citing the entry data of government schools, universities and high private schools, the authorities obtained petitions from several quarters saying that fewer students in government schools are entering in these associations to research professional courses like agriculture, engineering, veterinary, fisheries and regulation.
They’ve indicated that the authorities reevaluate it” a release from the state authorities stated.
“Chief Union M K Stalin made the commission led by Justice D Murugesan to examine the societal and financial history of government school pupils and to recognize the hurdles faced by these and to suggest corrective measures when the enrolment of administration college pupils is poor from the professional classes for the aforementioned factors.
The commission will publish its report in a month,” the release added.
