Chennai: In a strange event, a passenger in a taxi was burned alive when the vehicle suddenly caught fire on the Koyambedu flyover on Monday.
The police said that while the driver managed to jump out of the car to pay attention to the passenger fire stuck inside.
The driver suffered minor injuries and hospitalized.
The driver, Sunil of Mangadu, picked up passengers from Velapihavadi for a drop in Choolaimedu.
The incident occurred when the vehicle was on a busy flyover on the way to the 100 foot of the road, Koyambedu.
