Kalakurichi: A BJP official was arrested in Kallakurichi Tamil Nadu Regency on Tuesday on charges of attacking private financial company employees, who came to recover the loans obtained by his wife.
The person who was arrested was identified as a Marutat aka Irudhiyaraj, 46, who was an official official of the BJP Ulundpet City Unit.
Police said the wives of the Marout, who are members of the women’s self-help group, have obtained loans from private financial companies but failed to pay loan installments on time.
A private company employee B Balaguru, 27, visited Maruthu locality on Tuesday to recover delayed loans.
In learning that Balaguru came to recover loans, Maruthu sent him and brutally attacked him by log.
Balaguru suffered an injury and was rushed to the Ulundurpet Government General Hospital.
He submitted a complaint with Ulundurpet police, which registered the case under it wrong) and 506 (2) (punishment for criminal intimidation) from the Criminal Code and captured the Marout.
