Chennai: Tourists will soon be able to stay at bungalows in tea or rubber plantations in the state, enjoy travel and learn to process tea or latex leaves because Tamil Nadu tourism is exploring ways to promote tourism that will offer innovative experiences.
Tourism Secretary B Chandra Mohan said the opportunity was being seen.
“This is the niche tourism segment that we see.
We will encourage tea and fixed rubber area.” He said that some plantations such as rubber plantations in Kanyakumari had restored old buildings and invited people to stay there.
Rubber tea or tourism will offer opportunities for a peaceful stay and travel.
Although the plantation has encouraged the inap of their property, it was not promoted as a tourism choice by the state government among domestic travelers.
The government also works on the master plan to overcome the location details and structured plans to promote the new segment.
Rubber plantations in Kanyakumari Regency, tea plantations on Nilgiris and coffee plantations in the Kodaikanal area will be a clear choice.
The country has focused on tourism offers because it thinks people who start traveling prefer to bet on a newer experience than the purpose.
The Department of Tourism has coated proposals for tourism in segments such as arts and culture, inheritance, festivals, and exhibitions, spiritual and welfare, natural diversity, adventure and food.
M K ajit Kumar from the South India Association (Sima) said the estate tours would be a safe choice.
“Remote plantations and will attract many people who like a quiet atmosphere.
Some tea and rubber plantations have offered their own personal stay.
If the government promotes it, more plantations will open the door for tourists.” Tea Garden Retreats are popular in West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim and Kerala.
The plantation there offers tourists the opportunity to experience how tea leaves are processed and packaged in factories besides offering additional activities such as mountainous trips around.
The government also promotes tea plantations and a list of ideal property for staying for such tours.
