Chennai: fresh Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu fell further on Thursday, when the country reported 2,405 new cases compared to 2,458 on Wednesday.
The country recorded 49 deaths, encouraging cumulative death toll to 33,606.
Since March 2020, TN reported 25.28 cases of Lakh Covid.
After issuing 3,006 people from the registry state, there were 29,950 people who were still under treatment for viral infections.
On Thursday, seven districts reported cases in three digits and 24 districts reported cases below 50.
Coimbatore reported 256 cases followed by 163 in Tharvur and 159 in Erode.
Among the cities, Chennai reported 148 cases, Salem had 155, Trichy recorded 88 and Madurai reported 34.
Tenkasi reported 11 cases – the lowest – followed by Ramanathapuram (20) and Tirunelveli (20).
“The rate of decline has slowed and is not uniform in all districts.
While the country continues to test 1.5 people every day, it is important for people to wear masks and maintain social distance,” said Public Health Director Dr.
TS Selvavinayagam.
Of the 49 deaths in the state, Chennai reported seven deaths followed by six in Coimbatore, and three of each in Salem, Chengalpet, Screens and Thirupathur.
At least 17 districts in the state do not report death.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has reported nearly 4,000 black mushroom cases and has urged the center to provide more drugs for the treatment of infections in post-covid patients.
Meanwhile, the state received 6.01 lakh covisheild doses and 91,580 covaxin doses on Thursday, when the state was vaccinated 1.36 lakh people.
The number of vaccinations on Thursday fell from 2.07 lakh on Wednesday, 3,3,3LH on Tuesday and 3,7lakh on Monday.
“We have 2.1 the lakh vaccine on Thursday morning.
The number of vaccinations depends on the stock,” said Director Joint (Immunization) Dr K Vinay Kumar.
