TN: Relief for priests, bhattacharyas Starts

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Thursday established supply of some financial help of Rs 4,000, 10 kg of rice along with 15 things of markets as Covid-19 aid into non-salaried priests and bhattacharyas of those temples below the Hindu spiritual and charitable endowments section.
The initiative will insure 14,000 priests, both bhattacharyas and employees in 12,959 temples.
They’re relying upon the offerings made with the devotees to earn a living.
However, lockdown has influenced them as temples have been closed.
The CM found the supply in the secretariat by handing relief into 12 priests.
