Chennai: New cases in Tamil Nadu fell to 1,942 on Thursday compared to 1,964 on Wednesday.
The sharpest decline reported from Chennai and Coimbatore became districts with the highest number of cases after increasing new cases.
On Friday, Chennai reported 217 new cases against 243 was on Thursday, while cases in Coimbatore rose from 229 to 240 over the same period of time.
Thanjavur reported the sharpest increase from 77 cases to 102 cases.
Ban the active case of Chennai and Coimbatore less than 2000 in all districts, although almost 90% of beds in both districts are empty.
“We have asked all districts to increase supervision and testing.
While there is a quick decrease in the case between May and July, new cases in TN have remained stagnant between 1,900 and 1800 since July 19,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“This is because the small cluster we see periodically in all districts.
In most cases, health workers have found a violation in the Pandemic Protocol,” he said.
Of the 33 deaths, there were six in Coimbatore, five in Salem, four in Tiruppur, three in Kanyakumari, and two of each at Chennai, Thirukottai and Pulajottai.
Meanwhile, TN received 7.6 lakh doses of covishield and 1.3 lakh covaxin on Thursday, when most vaccine centers complained from low stock.
During the last three days the number of vaccinations had fallen.
On Thursday, for the first time in August, the number of vaccinations went under 1 lakh to 92334, after reporting 1.07 lakh on Wednesday and 1.5 lakh on Tuesday.
“The vaccine we received today has been sent to the district,” said Public Health Director Dr.
S Selvavinayagam.
The active case of cross 900 in Pondy again the case of Covid-19 actively crosses 900-mark again in Puducherry.
Territory reported 109 new cases even when 59 patients recovered in the last 24 hours took active cases to 914 on Thursday.
A 61-year-old woman from Puducherry and a 86-year-old man from Mahe died because the infection took the death toll to 1,803.
So far, 7.5 lakh doses of covid-19 vaccines have been given.
