MADURAI: Minister M K Stalin announced the RS 11.32 Crore Solatium to the damaged ship owner on the coast of Sri Lanka and in recent rain in the state.
He made an announcement on Friday after the presentation made to him directly by the representative of the fisherman’s body from all the states on Thursday.
Compensation includes Rs 5.66 Crore as alatium to the owner of 125 ships from the South Coastal District and the city center of Tamil Nadu detained by the Sri Lankan Navy for the past few years when they passed the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) and illegally.

To protect the livelihood of the ship’s owner, CM announced the RS 5 Lakh’s solution to the owner of the mechanical ship and 1.5 lakh Rs each to the owner of a small ship.
CM also ensure that the delegation led by Tuticorin MP and DMK Deputy Leader of the Kanimozhi Parliamentary Committee will seek an appointment with the Minister of External Affairs and meet him along with the State Fisheries and Minister of Anitha R Radhakrishnan to accelerate the release of 56 Tamil Nadu Fishermen in Sri Lanka.
56 of these fishermen were among 68 which were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy for fishing in their waters in three separate incidents from December 18 to 20 and languishing in prison.
Twelve of them were released after the Intervention of the Government of India and Tamil Nadu.
Stalin also announced the RS 5.66 Crore sollatium to the owner of 105 ships and fishermen whose fishing gear was broken during the season.
