CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Thursday declared a distinctive Rs 61.09 crore kuruvai bundle for farmers in the delta districts.
The relocation will help get extra coverage compared to targeted 3.5 lakh yards this year.
The strategy will be implemented at Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai and Tiruvarur districts and partly at Cuddalore, Ariyalur and Trichy districts.
It’ll reap 2.07 lakh farmers from the area.
“Subsidised inputs will be distributed to the farmers, such as 2,870MT of paddy seeds along with 100% Nominal chemical fertilisers, to nurture 1.9 lakh acres and green manure seeds to 24,000 yards,” stated an official launch.
The government has spent Rs 50 crore towards supply of inputs, moreover Rs 11.09 crore to offer subsidised machines to both farmers and make farm ponds for successful utilization of water.
The short term kuruvai crop is generally cultivated in 3.2 lakh acres of property but the goal was increased to 3.5 lakh acres for the present season.
The agriculture section has stocked sufficient input, such as brief length variety seeds, chemical fertilisers, bio-fertilisers, micro-nutrient fertilisers.
Because of the efforts taken by the authorities, the kuruvai crop has been increased at 1.69 lakh acres till June 14 while increasing nursery and transplantation is always onthe release stated.
The state authorities had held talks with all the farmers on desilting water and work discharge from Mettur reservoir.
Desilting has been achieved in 647 areas (for 44,061.44kilometers ) at Rs 65.11 crore.
The ministry started the sluices of this reservoir around June 12, the habitual date.
Afterward, water has been released from Grand Anicut on June 16.
“The ministry wrote a letter to Union jal shakti Union Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to notify that the Cauvery Water Management Authority to launch monthly the specified quantum for Tamil Nadu.
On this basis, the power’s meeting will be held June 22,” the release added.
