Chennai: A 20-year-old seller at a mobile shop in Kancheepuram was repeatedly raped by a man he knew and his four friends on Thursday night.
Gunaselan, 23, who has been friends with him the first on social media and then often visits him at his workplace, has lured the woman to with him say he will take him to meet someone for a better job.
He then gave him a soft drink he released with a sedative and took him to his farm in Melkathipur near Kancheepuram.
At that time the woman fainted and she raped her repeatedly in Motorhhed.
Gunaselan then called four of his friends who came with a car.
They also took turns raping the woman.
As soon as the woman regained the awareness, she shouted and several villagers gathered there.
They saw semi-naked and two men in a similar state.
The villagers tried to save the woman, but the suspects managed to escape in the car with the woman.
Then, they pushed him out on the National Highway Chennai-Bengaluru near Baluchetty Chathiram and drove away.
Survivor went to the Baluchty Chatiram police station and filed a complaint.
He was taken to the Kancheepuram government hospital where police supervisor (SP) M Sudhakar arrived and conducted an investigation.
Special team immediately arrested the man accused.
The police identified them as Gunarankaran, 24, from Jalan Nakheer in Orikkai, Gunaselan from Vaniyar Street in Periya Kanchepuram, Ajit Kumar, 23, Kachabeshwarar Mada Street, and Jebesan, 29, from Kancheepuram Periya.
The fifth man, Kamaraj, 23, from Kamaraj Street in Kancheepuram, was arrested from Salem on Friday.
The car was also confiscated from him.
The police said Gunaselan had introduced himself as an entrepreneur and broker for the woman.
On one of his visits to his workplace, the woman asked Gunaselan if he could help him find a better job.
He promised and on Thursday night picked him up at his workplace and they left with two-wheeled vehicles.
The police said he had planned everything because he had bought sedatives and mixed it in soft drinks.
