TN searches for RS 2,629CR relief, the center to assess damage

Chennai: Minister of Housecon Union Amit Shah on Wednesday convinced Tamil Nadu that the inter-ministerial team of six members would visit the country to assess the damage to the flood, said the leader of the Parliamentary Party DMK T Balu.
The Tamil Nadu government has been seeking central assistance from 2,629 crores against flood assistance.
Speaking with reporters after the meeting with Shah in New Delhi, Balu said he had submitted government notes to the Union Minister on the direction of the minister’s leader, seeking 2,079 crore’s main relief towards permanent restoration and 550 crore to take temporarily relieved and restoration.
