Chennai: The error typing ‘cement’ which was recorded as ‘Semman’ (which means red sand in Tamil) almost allows rape accused of being free of Skot, before Madras High Court stepped and reversed his release by a lower court.

Taking advantage of the error conducted by the typist during the trial, the defense argued that what the mother found in her child was ‘red land’ (Semman) and that there was no cement found in children’s underwear.
Judge Velmurugan said investigative officers should make more effort, and add: “The culprit escaped for technical reasons and, unfortunately, the investigative wing also did not match the standard.
