Chennai: Because the controversy surrounding the rejection of the Tableaux Day of the Republic of Tamil Nadu featuring freedom fighters, the public interest around them has increased.
Now, craftsmen and officials seek to make a good tableaux that will be paraded in Chennai on January 26.
Three floating on ‘Tamil Nadu in the struggle for freedom’ will display icons such as Subramania Bharati, V O Chidambaram, Nachiyar Velu and Maruthu Pandiyar Brothers.
On Saturday, craftsmen give the last touch at the Ground School of Women Wading in Triplicane.

One of the buoys will have the Nachiyar Velu, the first queen against England, riding a horse with a sword with a woman’s soldier holding a spear.

While the Republican Day Parade is not open to the public, the focus will be in the tableau which is said by Minister M K Stalin’s head they will be part of the country’s R-Day events.
According to officials, there will be no other presentation from the government department this year.
“This year, there will be no cultural events by school and students because of the increase in Covid-19 cases.
The event is planned only 35 minutes,” said an official.
Tableau is expected to be taken to all important cities in the state after the R-Day event in Chennai.
