Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Coimbatore, will operate the bus to Trichy and Salem from the temporary bus terminal to be established in the land of Codissia for four days starting from Tuesday to the upcoming Diwali festival.
This will help reduce congestion at the Gandhipuram and Santanallur bus terminal, officials from TNSTC said.
Bus to Erode, Tirupur (via avistance), Tirupur (Via Palladam), Karur, Sathyamangalam Route and Chennai will be operated from the Mofussil bus terminal.
The bus to the southern district like Madurai, Theni and other routes will be operated from the Santanallatur bus terminal.
Codissia Ground will see long distance buses operated through the Salem and Trichy route.
Buses to the route Polachi, Palani, Udumalai, Valparai, Madurai and Theni will be operated from the UKKadam terminal.
City buses will often be operated to Codissia from Gandhipuram Terminal, Santanallur and Ukkadam.
An official from TNSTC said that Coimbatore Corporation will take the basic facilities needed to handle passengers at Codissia Ground.
Drinking water, toilet facilities, and seating settings will be provided.
Employees will be deployed in all terminals to guide people to ride the right bus.
Officials will conduct inspections to ensure that bus passengers and crews use masks.
