Coimbatore: After 10th grade students of government schools in the Namakkal district were tested positive for Covid -19, swab samples were taken from all 300 students and strange teachers at the institution and sent for testing.
Although no one of them was found to have contracted a virus when the results occurred on Friday, alternative settings had been made for students to continue their class.
The incident occurred in a higher government secondary school in ManickAnlayam near Tiruchenge where around 280 students attended the class on the first day reopened in 1.
Some students gave their swabs when a medical team came to a random swab collection on the day.
When the results occurred on Thursday, one of the girls was tested positive for Covid-19.
The girl immediately shifted to the government hospital for the treatment and the rest of 300 people at school including the teacher was tested.
“But fortunately no one was tested positive because the results came on Friday,” said Namakkal Balumuthu District Education Officer.
“ We are worried if the girl is infected by several other students at school.
Because no one was found positive, it was clear that he was infected from somewhere outside.
The girl was found to have a mild infection and she was stable, “he said.
