Madurai: A temple of a temple that raped a 15-year-old girl with the pretext of committing a puja to heal her mother was sentenced to life imprisonment to death by fast trail field in Ramanathapuram.
A 57-year-old man from Tiruchendur nearby in Tuticorin District, is a priest at the Madasamy Sudalai Temple.
Relatively 37 years old, who used to come to the temple regularly, told him that he suffered from a disease.
The priest told him that Puja had to be done in Rameswaram with a virgin girl who was present and it would heal it.
He agreed to involve his 15-year-old daughter in a ritual.
He took the girl with him for Rameswaram alone after telling the mother that no one had to accompany them.
He raped it on November 15, 2019, at the cottage in Rameswaram.
He managed to escape from him and went to the police station all women in Rameswaram and filed a complaint.
The police put the case and arrested Masansuutu.
Judge Subadra who conveyed judgment on Thursday, punished him imprisoned to death and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.
