Chennai: Two women, who were busy watching the television series, lost nearly 50 sovereign golden jewelry around Rs 19 Lakh to the four member gang, which sneaked into their Kancheepuram’s house and robbed them on Thursday night.
According to the police, Meganathan’s house owner was the auditor and his brother of a government servant.
The wife followed alone with her cousin.
Both of them have left their house open and the main gate is not locked.
The masked man entered the house when both watched TV.
The gang binds them in the knifepoint, demanding to find out the key almirah, and run away with valuables.
The police said that thieves might target homes because they were on a quiet stretch, further added that the women watched TV with high volume.
When checking CCTV’s footage, the police knew that the gang came on a bicycle.
While two of them guarded the gate, the other two did a robbery.
