Chennai: Chennai continues to lead the country in the case of a new Covid case with the district recorded 128 fresh infections on Monday.
Chennai was followed by Coimbatore who reported 120 new cases.
Supervision has been intensified in hotspots, including Chennai.
Tamil Nadu, meanwhile, added 719 Covid cases and recorded 10 deaths due to viral infections.
But the rapid recovery rate allows active cases to fall to 8013.
On Monday, 3.6 lakh people got their jab.
The 14th mega vaccine drive in 50,000 centers will be held this Saturday.
Asked about actor Kamal Hassan returned to the Bigg BOSS set soon after being issued, J Radhakrishnan Health Secretary said officials looked at him but discussed the isolated incident should not prevent people who were vaccinated or following the Covid protocol.
