TN: Women killed Son, months after Hubby’s death

Chennai: Four months after her husband died of Covid-19, a woman hung her son and then in Selaiyur on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Baleswari Villivakkam and his eight-year-old son of Narayanan.
Police said her husband Ravi, 48, died for Covid-19 four months ago.
He runs a cellphone shop in Villivakkam and the family leads a stable life financially.
After Ravi’s death, the Baleswari sister took her and the child to her house at Madambakkam, because she felt depressed.
Baleswari’s sister Muthulakshmi watched her because she often showed a tendency to commit suicide after her husband’s death.
He never mingled with his relatives or friends.
On Monday, Muthulakshmi went to Thoothukudi with his family, leaving Baleswari and his son alone at home.
He has told his neighbor to often examine his sister.
When his neighbor noticed that the house remained locked and the lights were not turned off even at night, they decided to check it out.
However, the beat of repeatedly from his neighbor did not cause a response, here they knew the police Selaiyur.
Immediately, the police team arrived at the spot and opened the door to find the mother and child hanging on the ceiling.
Police suspect Baleswari killed his son first and then hung himself.
Their body has been sent for post-Mortem to the Chromepet Government Hospital.
The police have registered a suicide case and further questions.
Police said Baleswari could not overcome his husband’s loss and continued to tell his sister that his future was bleak.
