Coimbatore: Anticipating a heavy rush remembering Diwali, Tamil Nadu Nadu Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate the bus on the Trichy and Salem route from the temporary bus standards to be established on the Ground Codissia from Tuesday.
The temporary stand will help reduce congestion in Gandhipuram and Saranallur Bus Terminals, said a TNSTC official.
“Bus to Erode, Tirupur (via Avinashi), Tirupur (Via Palladam), Karur, Sathyamangalam and Chennai will be operated from the Mofussil bus terminal.
Buses to the southern district such as Madurai and Theni will be operated from Santanallatur bus terminals.
Bus to Polachi, Palani, Udumalai, Valparai, Madurai and Theni will be operated from the UKKadam terminal.
City buses will often be operated to codissia from the Gandhipuram terminal, Saantallur and Ukkadam, “he said.
City Corporation will provide basic facilities including drinking water, toilets and seats at the Codissia bus terminal.
“As many as 250 vehicles will be operated as a special bus to clean the god rush.
More buses will be operated on certain routes, where demand will be deployed in all terminals to guide passengers.
