To appoint a former judge for Kheri’s probe on Monday

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government on Friday told the Supreme Court that it would appoint a retired HC Hakim on Monday to oversee the probe to sit into the incident of Violence Lakhimur Kheri October 3 – cutting four farmers, three allegedly accused and alleged murder of a journalist.
Chairman of Judge NV Ramana and Hakya Surya Kant and Hima Kohli have expressed dissatisfaction for the speed and quality of the probe sitting and told the government in November on November 8 that there was an urgent need to appoint HC judges from outside the country to oversee the probe so as not to mix the evidence in three Different incidents that occur in a short time range in October 3.
The court has suggested the names of Punjab titles and Haryana HC – Ranjit Singh and asked the country to point to one of them to oversee the probe.
When the court gives a choice to the state to make an appointment itself or under the direction of the court, the Senior Advocate Salve Harish will say it will do it itself and that the direction of the court is not needed.
On Friday, the Salve told the court that he could convince the state government to appoint retired judges on the task of supervision.
“I have convinced them and promises to be done on Monday,” he said.
The bench delayed hearing cases until Monday.
Asked from two former judges chosen for the appointment of the supervision of the sitting probe, Salve told TI that “the decision will be carried out on Monday and provide information to the court”.
