Sharjah: Afghan captain Mohammad Prophet hopes the success of his team at the T20 World Cup and brings a smile on their fans’ face back home, where cricket remains one of several “happiness” sources after the country’s takeover by the Taliban.
Because of the upheaval there after radical organizations assume power in August, the preparation of the national cricket team for the T20 exhibition left a lot to be desired.
“It’s not ideal,” said the Prophet to reporters on Sunday, the day before their 12-appetizer match against Scotland here.
“Everyone knows it returns home in Afghanistan, there are many things that have happened since the last few months.
But, from the point of view of cricket, everyone is ready and ready for this World Cup.” The Prophet, who formed a smooth triumvirate with Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman, added, “There was a little problem when we arrived in Dubai, but the two advanced heating and practice matches prepared a team well.” The fans really waited because the only happiness in Afghanistan was a cricket.
If we do it well in the tournament and win the match, fans will be truly happy and there will be many smiles on the face.

The Prophet said he was happy to see Scotland and Namibia qualify for the Super 12 tournament.
Afghanistan, which has made many progress in recent years, is a direct participant to Super 12s.
