Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) has installed GPS tracker in more than 400 diesel vehicles, which attack garbage from around the city to throw yards.
The move happened after coming to pay attention to that the driver, in Convance with the GMC staff, it would show on paper that the vehicle moved from one part of the city to another, even when they did not do it.
Thus, they will suck diesel funds.
With GPS installation and other mechanisms, GMC officials claim that they have begun to save 70 lakh Rs per month.
“The need to install GMC Diesel vehicles used to transport civil waste felt a few years ago when the corporation discovered fraud, where money from Diesel funds sucked.
After a few hits-and-trial, we finally compiled a mechanism that ended this fraud, “said Mahendra Singh Tanwar, Commissioner of the city.
“Out of 579 vehicles, we have succeeded in installing GPS in more than 400 diesel-fueled vehicles and the movement of each vehicle tracked from the command center established at the GMC office,” added Tanwar.
GMC spends more than RS 40 Crore every year to trigger its vehicle, especially to transport more than 1,400 metric tons of civil waste every day.
“Previously, there were many gaps in the system, which allowed fraud to occur in the name of Diesel funds,” Tanwar said.
“Fraud runs in Crores,” added Tanwar.
In addition to installing GPS, GMC first inspects all the vehicles and gets a database prepared.
