Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh will have a biodiversity strategy and a new action plan designed according to global standards in December this year.
The action plan, which will help streamline monitoring and conservation of diverse biodiversity countries, is being funded by the UN Development Program (UNDP).
Country biodiversity covers various species of plants and animals, wetland habitat and wildlife in addition to the human population.
The Biodiversity Agency to UP (UPSBB) will prepare an action plan with technical support from the Indian Animal Institution (Wii).
On Wednesday, the Head of the Additional Secretary, the Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Manoj Singh, who is also the Chair of the UPSBB, inaugurated a two-day regional consultation workshop on preparing the strategy and plan of biodiversity.
Consultation is held between various stakeholders.
On Thursday, the discussion will be held with the Biodiversity Management Committee in the state.
Although it has planned a plan for conservation and management of biodiversity, a new plan will be determined according to the standards decided on the 1992 Earth Summit in Brazil.
In 2008, the national action plan for biodiversity was prepared and in 2018, the center directed every country to have its own action plan.

The UPSBB source said the plan would be designed for short-term targets of up to 2030 and the long-term target of up to 2050.
It will also focus on sectoral convergence, which means There is coordination between the government and other stakeholders, for monitoring and conservation of state biodiversity.
