Jaisalmer: The police arrested a man for killing his wife in the Barmer district on Saturday.
The man suffocated his wife because he wanted to get married again to get a son, but couldn’t do it because of his wife.
The man previously claimed that he and his family were attacked by an unknown person, but was arrested on Saturday based on the statement given by his daughter.
The defendant, Shera Ram, reportedly attacked his wife and daughter on September 26, at their home in Batadu Rampura Village in Barmer District.
He hit the two with a stick and allegedly strangling his wife to death.
His brother filed a police complaint the next day claiming the three had been attacked and that his brother and his nephew rushed to the hospital, while his brother-in-law, Saraswati had died.
The girl who was accused of 11 years old, Durga was injured and unconscious when treated at the hospital.
After being sent back, he told the police that his father had defeated him and his mother with a stick and then strangled his mother to death.
Shera Ram has made her being accepted at Jodhpur’s hospital claiming a head injury, from where he was dismissed on Friday.
The police then arrested him on Saturday.
According to Barmer SP Anand Sharma, Shera Ram wants to remarry a son.
