Coimbatore: More than five lakh people in this district have not taken the Covid-19 vaccine and about two lakh people waiting for their second dose.
Because only 21% of the population has taken doses, Collectors of Coimbatore G S Sechanan urged the eligible people to utilize the mass vaccination drive planned today at 1,475 places throughout the district to provide a dose of 1.5 lakh.
The Chief Executive of Tamil Nadu Khadi officials and the P Shankar Village Industry Board, who have been appointed as special officers for Drive Vaccination Mass, took stock arrangements on Saturday.
“Special focus is to coimbatore and nilgiris districts, which are bordered by Kerala, because cases increase in neighboring countries.
Rural areas are given preferences, where 1,016 camps are set for vaccination.
A total of 151 camps will be carried out within the city limits and 308 in the city limits , “said the official.
