Thane: a one-year-old girl who was kidnapped by some unknown people from a village in Bhiwandi from the Thane Maharashtra district, traced by the police within five hours, an official said on Saturday.
The toddler was kidnapped from his home in Shelan Village on an intervention night and Friday when his mother had stepped out to answer his natural call and his father fell asleep, said Senior Inspector Balsingh from the Police Station Bhiwandi Taluka.
The boy’s mother had stepped out after locking the door from the outside and when he returned, seeing that the key had been opened and the baby was gone, the official said.
He raised an alarm and when a baby could not be found in the nearest places, the kidnapping complaint was filed and the search operation was launched, he said.
The child was found abandoned near a temple in the village around 6am on Friday and returned with his parents, the official said, added that further investigation was ongoing to track the kidnappers.
