Bhavnagar: A two-year-old girl was persecuted to death by leopards at her residence in Bhavnagar District Bhavnagar Village on Sunday, said the Department of Forest officials.
The incident occurred in the morning in the village which fell under the Palitana Forest Division Shetrunji, they said.
It came a day after two women were injured, one of them seriously, in a leopard attack in Gasali District Amreli District under the East Gir Division, a forest department official said.
The two women were attacked by leopards on Friday night when they slept outside the farmhouse in the village, the officials said.
One Sangeetaben was given the main treatment and was dismissed from the hospital, while the other victims, Nehaneaben, suffered wounds on his neck and were referred to Rajkot Hospital for care.
There are several cases of human-human conflict in the forested area of Gujarat in the past.
Between 2015 and 2019, leopards have attacked 718 people in various parts of the state and from them, 67 have died, the government has told the State Assembly in March this year.
