NEW DELHI: Boxing’s international governing body – AIBA – established a probe on Thursday to Indian fighter Amit Panghal’s claim that his departure against Shakhobidin Zoirov from the 52kg closing of the Asian Boxing Championships at Dubai has been”rigged”.
The AIBA ordered its Refereeing and Judging (R&J) Committee to run an”immediate investigation to the work of relevant appointed officials (in the tournament) and document their findings into the AIBA Disciplinary Committee whenever possible, to ascertain if there’s a case to answer or never”.
