Tokyo: A British team was pioneered by Tom Dean and Duncan Scott stormed victory at the Son Olympic 4x200m relay on Wednesday, with a narrow world recording.
Led by Dean 200m Champion that was recently crowned and taken home by Scott, they touched 6 minutes 58.58sec, right outside 6: 58.55 global mark held by the United States.
“I think this is really special, with those children,” Scott said.
“We are very close to the world record in the end, if something is rather broken.” That means the English team, which features James Guy and Matthew Richards in the middle leg, goes one better than in Rio in 2016, when they are second.
