Tokyo: The Indian archery campaign at the Olympics ended without medals after or DAS lost to Takaharu’s house Furukawa 6-4 in five intense setters in the pre-quarter-finals of the individual here on Saturday.
The watershed failed to find 10 in the fifth set and slipped into the red circle for 8 which was proven expensive because Furukawa sealed this problem with a single point margin on the decider.
The watershed was an archer alone in a commotion after his wife number one Deepika Kumari gave up on Rout 0-6 by the gold medalist finally San Korea on Friday.
Two days after breaking down the London Olympic gold medal Oh Jin Hyek in the last 32 match, the watershed could not overcome the Japanese, silver medalist at the 2012 Olympics, and bronze medalist here.
The watershed rises back from the 1-3 deficit to level 3-3 because the duo goes the neck-and-neck in the fourth set before the local favorite sealed the problem in the fifth set with only one point (28-27).
The watershed twice in the red circle (8-8) in the last two arrows of the opening set will disappear with two points (25-27).
Starting with 10, DAS gained control but Japan also matched it, shooting 28-28 which was identical to divide the second set with Indian trailing 1-3.
The watershed showed good tranquility, drilling two 10s on the way to take the fourth set 28-27 but there were more dramas in the store because both of them binded the fourth set.
