Tokyo: Indian Bintang Paddler Manika Batra bent from the women’s singles after losing the round 3 match against Austria’s Sofia Polcanova in the Tokyo Metropolitan Gym – Table 1 at the Tokyo Olympics which are ongoing on Monday.
Sofia Polcanova beat Batra 4-0 as a match lasted only 27 minutes.
Batra and Polcanova are swapping a few big points to start the match but it is Austria who won against the Manika rally and took the first set 11-8.
The second set was all Sofia from the start which cleverly neutralized the batra turning and took a round in the blink of an eye.
The 11-2 set lasts for 4 minutes.
Batra’s deadly arm continued to disappear in the third round against the Austrian stern defense when he again failed to put his fight and his opponent took a set of 11-5.
In the next one, Indians tried to postpone things that were inevitable by playing some qualified long demonstrations but the final results remained the same.
Polcanova claims set 11-7 and marched to the next round.
Previously, Sutirtha Mukherjee also crashed into a woman’s singles after losing 2 rounds against Portugal’s Fu Yu.
Meanwhile, Achanta Sharath Kamal advanced to round up 3 men’s singles after beating Apolonia Tiago Portugal.
Kamal beat Tiago 4-2 in round 2 of the men’s singles and all matches lasted 48 minutes.
