Tokyo: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Thursday announced that it would give the Winner of the Tokyo Olympic gold medal in the cash award of 75 lakh rs in addition to giving each participating National Sports Federation (NSFS) a number of bonuses of Rs 25 Lakh.
The IOA Advisory Committee has recommended that the winner of the Silver Medal will be presented by Rs 40 Lakh, while the bronze winner will get richer by Rs 25 Lakh.
“It also recommends a number of Rs.
1 lakh for each athlete who represents the country at the Tokyo Olympics,” IOA said in a statement.
IOA has also recognized the advice of his advisory group that Bonus RS.
25 lakh is given to every participating NSF and further support from RS 30 Lakh for each NSF who won the medal.
In addition, the support of RS 15 Lakh each will be received by the national sports federation of other members.
“This is the first time IOA gave a gift to the winner of the medal and medal producing NSFS in such a way,” said Secretary General IOA Rajeev Mehta.
The Advisory Group also recommends USD 50 pocket allowances per day for each Indian contingent member for the last days they live in Tokyo.
IOA also said that the Member State Olympic Associations “each will also receive a number of RS 15 Lakh each, as a contribution from IOA to the development of sports infrastructure in the United States and encourage more athletes to take sports.” Mehta said: “The Indian Olympic Association understands the difficulties faced by athletes and federations and feels that support and assistance is needed by all national sports federations, the State Olympic Association and the most important athletes, after overcoming difficult obstacles and times so far.
